The University of South Carolina Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology.  The following sessions are offered for .1 CEU each, introductory level, professional area. ASHA CE Provider approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures. Participants must attend the entire program in order to receive a certificate of attendance. No partial credit will be given.

This program is approved for 0.3 CEUs (3.0 clock hours) of continuing education by Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. and meets the SC AHEC Best Practices Standards.  Participants must attend 90% of the program in order to receive a certificate of attendance.  No partial credit will be given.

NURSING: This nursing continuing  education activity, approval #0608-016-PR-239 is approved for 3.0 hours.  Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the America Nurses Credentialing Centers Commission of Accreditation.

SOCIAL WORKERS: This program has been approved by the SC AHEC under its accreditation by the SC Borad of Social Work Examiners for 3.0 clock hours of non social work continuing education.

COUNSELORS & THERAPISTS: This program has been approved for 3.0 hours of continuing education by SC AHEC under its accreditation by the SC Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists.

PHYSICAL THERAPISTS: This program has been approved for 3.6 contact hours of continuing education by SC AHEC under its accreditation by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Board of Examiners for Physical Therapy. (Based on a 50-minute hour.)

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS: This program has been approved for 3.6 contact hours of continuing education for Occupational Therapists.  SC AHEC has presumptive approval as a provider of continuing education for Occupational Therapist by the SC Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy.

RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONERS:  3.0 clock hours will be awarded by Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc., an approved provider of continuing education for respiratory care practitioners by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
