About the Speakers:
Madalina Tudora

Madalina Tudora is a RESNA certified Assistive Technology Professional and experienced educator, currently serving as an Assistive Technology Specialist for the SC Department of Education. She worked and studied in Europe, earning her undergraduate degree in Special Education from the University of Bucharest, Romania, and her graduate degree in Psychology from Titu Maiorescu University, Bucharest.

Regular presenter at regional, national and international conferences offered through organizations like the Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA), SC Assistive Technology Program, SC Family Connection, South Carolina Education Association (SCEA), etc. she also supports school districts by providing guidance, resources and training for local assistive technology teams, education professionals, teachers, administrators, parents, and other stakeholders throughout the state.

Elizabeth Moore has worked in South Carolina schools for more than a decade. After earning her B.A. from the University of South Carolina and her MLA from Converse College, she began her career working in a high priority school where the focused use of technology was just being initiated. She then worked as an instructional technology specialist for several years before she began working in a facility where instructional technology and assistive technology are both integrated into the curriculum and the lives of the students. Now Elizabeth is an Assistive Technology Specialist for the Office of Special Education Services at the South Carolina Department of Education where she serves students with disabilities who have assistive technology needs throughout the state.

What is augmented reality? How can I use augmented reality with my students or child? Is it complicated? Come explore how using augmented reality to integrate digital information into your existing environment can make your classroom or home more accessible and fun. We will discuss what augmented reality is, explore some examples of augmented reality, and create an augmented reality during this session.

Children with autism can have very complex learning needs that sometimes continue to manifest into adulthood. This workshop will explore strategies and resources designed to address the specific needs of students diagnosed with autism. We will introduce practical concepts, techniques and resources to help your child be successful in the areas of communication, social interaction, organization, and behavior management.
